Just released today is the XPLICITOS new video for the song, “lado oscuro”

The Medellin Hip Hop scene is a very independent one, made up of do-it-together artists. While the video quality is not Snooop Dogg hollywood, it is very raw and real and picks up on some of the darker themes that make up life in the barrios of Medellin, Colombia.

We found this really cool place in Barrio Laureles called Point. It is like a modern day arcade with new 2010 LED flat screen TVs, big cushy sofas, and tons of games on Wii, Xbox, and PS3. It was so cool we had to make a little video of it.

Taking note of Sergio’s awesome response to playing video games we had a request to follow up with a special video below, just of him.

We were invited to a tango show in barrio Belen here in Medellin, and while we were expecting a small community theater performance we were rewarded with a 5-star performance the likes of Buenos Aires.

Medellin’s tango scene is on the rise, and if you get the chance to see the dance troop “A Puro Tango” be sure not to miss it. Check it out…

We walked to the first bar we could find, she went her way, I went mine. And when we came out, we both said the same thing, “You’ve gotta see this bathroom.”

Seeing bathrooms this zany gave us the inspiration to do a further investigation of the bar scene in Envigado – stay tuned. Envigado is the city immediately south of Medellin, Colombia.
