Altavoz Musicfest (Free!) Oct. 10-12
Right now happening in Medellin is the 3 days music fest Altavoz. The “Universidad” metro stop will take you right to the doors to get into the free event. Now in its 4th year there are bands from all over the world and tons from Colombia. Show up early however because there is a huge line or check out TeleMedellin for live TV coverage. There are food vendors and drinks available as well that are not totally over priced.
The theme for Sunday is hip-hop/reggae. “De bruces a mi” from Medellin is the headlining band for Sunday night. Here is a video.
The theme for Monday is alternative & ska. “Tr3sdecorazón” from Medellin play Monday at 6pm.
“Mojiganga” also from Medellin play Monday at 8pm.
Here is a video of “Tenebrarum”, a metal goth band fronted by a violin player and a freaky bat-like monster. They played today (Saturday) which was metal day. A few thousand Rockeros showed up to rock the fuck out: see pics below.
